PPKB (Prestasi dan Pemerataan Kesempatan Belajar)
Dalam rangka pemerataan kesempatan belajar, UI mengirimkan undangan kepada siswa SMA yang berprestasi diseluruh wilayah Indonesia untuk masuk UI. Demi standarisasi mutu, khusus bagi mahasiswa yang diterima melalui PPKB harus mengikuti program matrikulasi mata kuliah tertentu selama kurang lebih empat minggu. Siswa SMA yang mendapatkan Undangan, harus datang sendiri pada saat pendaftaran. Jika tidak datang dianggap mengundurkan diri. Acuan yang digunakan untuk menentukan SMA yang diikutsertakan pada program ini antara lain:

• Prestasi yang dicapai oleh lulusan SMA yang bersangkutan dalam Ujian Tulis UMPTN/SPMB tahun-tahun sebelumnya.
• Prosentase lulusan SPMB dari SMA yang bersangkutan pada tahun sebelumnya.
• Prestasi mahasiswa UI yang berasal dari SMA yang bersangkutan.
• SMA di seluruh pelosok tanah air, terutama yang peserta didiknya tidak/belum ada atau hanya sedikit berkesempatan belajar di UI.

  • Jurusan IPA :
    Kelas 1 (kelas 10) sampai dengan semester 1 kelas 3 (kelas 12) termasuk dalam 5 peringkat terbaik di kelas.
  • Jurusan IPS dan Bahasa:
    (1) Kelas 1 (kelas 10) sampai dengan kelas 2 (kelas 11) termasuk dalam 10 peringkat terbaik di kelas.
    (2) Semester 1 Kelas 3 (kelas 12) termasuk dalam 5 peringkat terbaik di kelas.

Seleksi melalui program SNMPTN pada tahun 2009 ini UGM menerima sebanyak-banyaknya 18% (delapan belas persen) dari total daya tampung. 

Semua program studi di Universitas Gadjah Mada mensyaratkan Mahasiswa Bebas Narkotika, Psikotropika dan Zat Adiktif lainnya (NAPZA).

RAGAM PROGRAM UM UGM 2009

1.	PENELUSURAN BIBIT UNGGUL
	a. Penelusuran Bibit Unggul Tidak Mampu (PBUTM)
	Ditujukan bagi siswa dengan kemampuan akademik tinggi tetapi tidak mampu secara ekonomi, dan mantap membangun masa depan bersama UGM. Peserta diusulkan oleh sekolah. Tiap sekolah mengajukan maksimal 2 (dua) peserta. Peserta dibebaskan dari biaya pedaftaran. Biaya pendidikan selama 8 (delapan) semester ditanggung oleh mitra UGM.
	b. Penelusuran Bibit Unggul Berprestasi (PBUB)
	Ditujukan bagi siswa pemenang kompetisi bidang ilmu pengetahuan tingkat nasional atau finalis olimpiade bidang ilmu pengetahuan tingkat internasional. Peserta diusulkan oleh sekolah. Pilihan program studi harus sesuai dengan bidang prestasinya. Biaya pendidikan selama 8 (delapan) semester seluruhnya ditanggung oleh UGM untuk PBUB beasiswa dan ditanggung oleh orangtua/wali untuk PBUB mandiri. Peserta yang lolos seleksi berkas wajib mengikuti Tes Potensi Akademik (TPA) yang diselenggarakan oleh UGM di sekolah masing-masing.
	c. Penelusuran Bakat Olahraga dan Seni (PBOS)
	Ditujukan bagi siswa dengan bakat khusus di bidang olahraga atau seni. Peserta diusulkan oleh sekolah. Biaya pendidikan ditanggung oleh orangtua/wali peserta. Peserta yang lolos seleksi berkas wajib mengikuti tes ketrampilan di UGM sesuai bakatnya. Program studi Pendidikan Dokter tidak menerima mahasiswa baru melalui PBOS.
	d. Penelusuran Bakat Swadana (PBS)*
	Ditujukan bagi siswa dengan kemampuan akademik tinggi. Peserta diusulkan oleh sekolah. Biaya pendidikan ditanggung oleh orangtua/wali peserta. Peserta wajib mengikuti Tes Bakat Skolastik (TBS) dan tes Ilmu Pengetahuan Dasar (IPD) di lokasi yang dipilih saat mendaftar. Peserta yang lolos seleksi wajib mengikuti tes wawancara di UGM.
	e. Penelusuran Bibit Unggul Pembangunan Daerah (PBUPD)*

	Ditujukan bagi siswa dengan kemampuan akademik tinggi. Program ini merupakan bentuk kepedulian UGM terhadap pembangunan daerah melalui kemitraan antara daerah dengan UGM, berbasis potensi wilayah dan kearifan lokal menuju kemajuan dan martabat bangsa Indonesia. Peserta diusulkan dan dibiayai oleh Pemda, dinas-dinas pemerintah di daerah, institusi, dan/atau perusahaan yang kredibel di daerah.
	*Informasi PBS dan PBUPD akan ditampilkan mulai Desember 2008.
2.	UJIAN TULIS
	a.	Diadakan untuk memilih calon mahasiswa baru yang berkualitas dengan kemampuan akademik dan potensi unggul untuk menunjang penyelesaian pendidikan di UGM sesuai batas waktu yang telah ditetapkan.
	b.	Materi seleksi meliputi Tes Potensi, Ilmu Pengetahuan Dasar, Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial.
	c.	Ujian dilaksanakan di Yogyakarta, Madiun, Jakarta, Tangerang, Cirebon, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Lhokseumawe (NAD), Bandar Lampung, dan Batam.
3.	SELEKSI NASIONAL MASUK PERGURUAN TINGGI NEGERI (SNMPTN)
	a.	Pada program ini UGM menerima sebanyak-banyaknya 18% dari total daya tampung.
	b.	Diselenggarakan oleh Panitia Pusat SNMPTN.
